YOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 Fri: Launceston

On arrival at Launceston Airport you will be met by your Tour Director (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm). This afternoon enjoy an orientation tour of Launceston then travel to the Bay of Fires Winery in the Tamar Valley where you will enjoy a wine tutorial and tasting.
Accommodation: Sandor's On The Park, Launceston.

Day 2 Sat: East Coast/Freycinet National Park

See the Swiss Village of Grindelwald then journey to the East Coast through lush rainforest and magnificent scenery around the Weldborough Pass. Continue to Freycinet National Park to visit the Interpretation Centre and enjoy a Ranger led walk along the boardwalk.
Accommodation: Beachfront at Bicheno. (B)

Day 3 Sun: Port Arthur/Hobart

This morning we continue down the coast for spectacular views of Maria Island and along the Tasman Peninsula to the Port Arthur Historic Site, Australia's most infamous convict prison. At the Interpretation Gallery play the 'Lottery of Life' and follow the journey of a convict to see what fate lies ahead. Join a guided walking tour of the grounds and ruins, followed by a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Visit the spectacular natural coastal formations of Tasman's Arch, Devil's Kitchen and the Blowhole.

Day 4 Mon: Cadbury Chocolate Factory/Bonorong/Richmond

This morning visit the Cadbury Chocolate Factory for a guided tour and tastings. (During factory shut downs the Sorell Fruit Farm is visited). At Bonorong Wildlife Park see a Tasmanian Devil and other native animals. Travel to the lovely old village of Richmond which boasts Australia's oldest bridge. Continue on to Hobart, the harbour capital. Enjoy an orientation tour visiting the Botanic Gardens, Battery Point, Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and
Mt Nelson. (B)

Day 5 Tue: Mt Field Visitor Centre/Russell Falls

Follow the Derwent Valley this morning to the beautiful New Norfolk hop growing district. Continue to Mt Field National Park, where there is time to inspect the Visitor Centre, before walking through the rainforest to Russell Falls. Travel to Lake St Clair in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, before crossing the Franklin River. Continue to Queenstown.

Day 6 Wed: Gordon River Cruise

This morning enjoy a cruise along the Gordon River. Cross the Macquarie Harbour and pass through Hell's Gates, the entrance to the harbour. See 2000 year old Huon Pines at Heritage Landing, before cruising back to Strahan. Time to take an optional ride on the West Coast Wilderness Railway from Strahan to Queenstown. (B)

Day 7 Thu: Cradle Mountain National Park/Burnie

This morning we journey to Cradle Mountain National Park to view Dove Lake and the jagged peaks of Cradle Mountain. Visit Waldheim Chalet and the Visitor Centre before continuing on to Burnie.

Day 8 Fri: The Nut/Stanley

Travel along the spectacular coast to Table Cape. Visit the massive promontory known as The Nut, which dominates the quaint fishing village of Stanley. This afternoon enjoy a relaxing stroll through the enchanting Allendale Gardens.

Day 9 Sat: Sheffield

This morning visit Sheffield, then visit the Ashgrove Farm cheese factory and Entally House. This afternoon visit Cataract Gorge before arriving at your hotel.

Day 10 Sun: Depart Launceston

Your tour concludes after breakfast this morning. You will be transferred to Launceston Airport to connect with your onward flight (flights to depart prior to 1.00pm). (B)
